Tieresia : The Seven Year War
The eldar are an old race, rivaling perhaps the dragonborn with their historical claims. They are aloof, proud and haughty — traits that combined with their virtual immortality to instill a supreme arrogance in them. This all came to a head in a disastrous conflict that brought down the eldar empire of Arthia, and has reduced them to the splintered factions that remain today.
The Eldar Subraces
- Drow: Exiled from the Southern Empire long ago for a crime only the most ancient ones remember, a foul curse branded them with their dark skin and pale hair. They are the bitter foes of their cousins the eladrin and elves, which has led them to take advantage of other races’ hospitality for years.
- Eladrin: Renowned nomads living in vast sea-ranging vessels, the eladrin are said to be fallen Arthia’s escaped highborn. In comparison to their warlike cousins, the eladrin have found fame as traders, scholars and wizards. Eladrin call the immense floating city of Lantes home.
- Elf: The vast majority of Arthia’s remnants has fallen into a dark age. Warring clans form insular city-states and elven mercenaries have formed a rivalry with the half-orcs of the North. They are renowned for their riding skill, archery and prowess with spears.
- Half-elf: The results of the elven race’s dwindling numbers, they are the half-breed offspring of elves with humankind. Humans say they combine the best of both races. Elves claim they’ve inherited the worst.
